I like this. and i dont like this. i like ti cuz we get to "preview" the updated content before we have to pay. i dont like it cuz the idiot fanboys of other games can still play and keep bashing it. O.o XD

If they were fanboys of other games and bashing ffxiv, why would they be playing it? o.o lol

Uh...no offense but SE kind of deserves it. I think they should just go ahead and say that they are going to give the PC players free access until the PS3 release...that way the players don't feel like SE's lab rats! SE opened this can of worms when they releases an unfinished and completely disconnected from the wants of the market product. I'm just thrilled I didn't waste my money which is not infinite.

People are always going to compare games to other games, especially WoW. The thing is they will eventually get tired of comparing it and go back to the original game, even if its free. As it stands they spent money on the game and deserve to be able to log in and check and see if the game is something they think they want to play.

Maybe SE learned a hard lesson and will think a little more before they put out their next game.

I doubt that they will hold back on another console title...they still get strong sells on FF console titles. I'm sure it will be quite some time before they do another MMO, took them 8 years since their last one....might be longer for the next one heh :P

Well I'm sure it will be at least another few years but that would have been the case even if XIV was a huge success

From what I've seen, SE doesn't learn. They try to completely go against the grain. The grain is the grain for a reason, and completely going against it leads to epic fails!

OMG...going against the grain is from carpentry and has nothing to do with cereal....

Which means that Satha's comparison is actually accurate. If a carpenter goes against the grain he makes something the looks and feels awful.
